Kyle Koretsky displaced Friday’s Pro Stock leader on Saturday of the NHRA Nevada Nationals while Mike Salinas (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car), and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock Motorcycle) continued to lead their fields into Sunday’s dramatic final eliminations at the season’s penultimate event.
There were almost too many eye-opening runs to count during another fast day during the Texas NHRA FallNationals but few could hold a candle to the 6.627 by Vance & Hines Suzuki rider Gaige Herrera but fellow low qualifiers Steve Torrence, Bob Tasca III, and Greg Anderson still had plenty to crow about.

Looking to move into the points lead in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs for the first time in his career, Funny Car’s Bob Tasca III clinched the No. 1 qualifier in front of a sellout crowd on Saturday at World Wide Technology Raceway at the 12th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals.
Friday’s qualifying session at the NHRA Midwest Nationals kicked off as the sun was setting over The Gateway Arch, and with flames high, Doug Kalitta and Bob Tasca III stood out, while Erica Enders and Gaige Herrera also nabbed the provisional pole in their respective categories to initiate race three of six in the Countdown to the Championship.
Doug Kalitta won his second straight Top Fuel victory to take the points lead with a win at the Betway NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway. Kalitta was joined in the winner’s circle by Bob Tasca III, Greg Anderson, and Gaige Herrera.
