Reigning Funny Car world champion Austin Prock locked up his fifth No. 1 qualifier of the season on Saturday at the 14th annual NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals in front of a sold-out crowd at Worldwide Technology Raceway.
Top Fuel’s Doug Kalitta landed in the provisional No. 1 spot at the 14th annual NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals as the Countdown to the Championship playoffs continued at World Wide Technology Raceway.
T.J. Zizzo put forth an exceptional performance to claim his second No. 1 of the season, while Austin Prock added a 12th No. 1 to the pile at World Wide Technology Raceway. Erica Enders and Gaige Herrera also scored the top spot on the lone day of qualifying at the NHRA Midwest Nationals.
Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin earned his second consecutive NTT P1 Award at World Wide Technology Raceway, and this time he gets the prime race starting position that goes with it.
Friday’s qualifying session at the NHRA Midwest Nationals kicked off as the sun was setting over The Gateway Arch, and with flames high, Doug Kalitta and Bob Tasca III stood out, while Erica Enders and Gaige Herrera also nabbed the provisional pole in their respective categories to initiate race three of six in the Countdown to the Championship.
